About

Sona Sarovar Trust was registered on 21st May 2007 under The Charitable Trust Act with an aim to support the underprivileged sector of our society. The journey continued with many projects on rural rehabilitation that were undertaken. Projects on water, sanitation, solar energy, child education, organic farming as well as income generation activities were zealously undertaken. In the process, they realized that the main cause of the problem was illiteracy.

Requirements from Volunteers

1) Take-up - Make the children do homework of school.
2) Improve lesson understanding.
3) Imbibe cleanliness, seriousness of education and hygiene.
4) You may tell stories and encourage them.
5)You may choose to assist or be a lead teacher.
6) Being on time and being punctual
7) Communicate emergencies asap and reschedule
8) 2-3 month minimum commitment. 


Additional Details

In the underprivileged segment, parents who are illiterate and extremely poor to send their children to public school or for tuitions. The result is children dropping out of school. Parents also encourage their children to earn rather than learn so the trust has started working on education and adopted nearby slums.

We need 2 volunteers for 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. slot and 2 volunteers for 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. slot.

We request volunteers to provide take-up of school homework and a bit of extra effort to get them at par.
